Duean is the director of Career Steer and works an workplace consultant. Her skills include career development, mediation, coaching and training and she has assisted thousands of individuals in corporate, government or not-for-profit workplaces around Australia. As a Biripi woman, she particularly enjoys supporting her Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients to make great career choices and to thrive in the workplace. She also works as an independent mediator with the Victorian Small Business Commission and the Gender Equality Commission.

Duean has a degree in law; postgraduate qualifications in leadership and coaching, and career development; and the Certificate IV in Training and Development. She has also undertaken Melbourne Business School’s Murra Program and various AICD courses. She has worked in corporate, for EAP providers and in government with DFAT.

She sits on the board of Kinaway, the Victorian Aboriginal Chamber of Commerce, and is an Associate Director of Aboriginal Housing Victoria.

Duean has two daughters and is a long-suffering but optimistic Carlton supporter.
