Delivering quality staffing solutions to Australia Post

AFL SportsReady continues to cement its partnership with Australia Post with ongoing school-based, part-time and full-time traineeships solving staffing solutions for the national company, after 8 years. 

‘The ongoing partnership has been very productive and healthy – it’s been developing for several years now and we’ve had plenty of trainees on board,’ said Australia Post’s National Indigenous Manager, Chris Heelan.

‘AFL SportsReady’s traineeship program gives us the staffing support we need. They pre-screen trainees and when they commence they mentor them and assist with Field Officers checking-in, so that’s definitely a level of support that internally, I just couldn’t provide on my own,’ he explained.

Australia Post is enjoying the benefits of national-support from the AFL SportsReady team, with their trainee assistance, support and guidance reaching almost every corner of regional Australia – just like their delivery services. 

Mr Heelan said the well-known AFL SportsReady brand is also helping to keep Australia Post connected and engaged with all communities. While its dedication to its workforce and development of young people is also key to the organisation’s success to date.

‘We have a strong commitment and focus on this program and want to make sure our trainees can transition to employment with us,’ said Mr Heelan.

‘We want to take people from the training period to employment and that’s clear with AFL SportsReady that we can do that for a young person, and receive that return-investment in the future.’
