St Clare’s College caters for the learning needs of a wide range of students. Students are encouraged to become active learners and to take increasing responsibility for their own learning. The formal curriculum is complemented by a diverse range of opportunities which allow students to experience learning in a variety of settings through excursions, guest speakers, use of ICT, participating in competitions and research opportunities.

As a Trainee, you will work closely with teachers to support students of all abilities in the classroom. This role involves providing targeted assistance to students with learning difficulties, preparing educational resources and fostering a positive learning environment that encourages independent learning. You will also help with various classroom activities and administrative tasks as required.

Key Responsibilities: You will assist teachers in delivering individualised support to students both inside and outside of the classroom, ensuring that students with disabilities are fully engaged in their learning. You will help prepare materials, monitor student progress, and provide encouragement to keep students motivated and on task. Administrative responsibilities include preparing resources, maintaining records and collaborating with the Leader of Learning Inclusive Education on student-related matters.

Candidates should be passionate about working with students who have diverse learning needs and demonstrate excellent communication skills, particularly with teenagers. The role requires a high level of professionalism, flexibility and the ability to work effectively within a team. You must hold a current ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card and possess sound administrative and ICT skills.

National Training Wage from: $21,500, plus 11.5% Superannuation

This role is suitable for recent secondary school leavers
