Located in Sydney, Powerhouse Museum is the largest museum group in Australia. It sits at the intersection of the arts, design, science and technology and plays a critical role in engaging communities with contemporary ideas and issues.

This position offers a unique opportunity to gain comprehensive experience across various museum departments, providing insights into museum operations and administrative processes. You will participate in a structured program that involves learning about collections management, program development, communications and corporate resources, while actively contributing to departmental projects.

Key Responsibilities: Your key responsibilities will include engaging in orientation and training to familiarise yourself with museum operations, safety protocols and ICT systems. You will rotate through different departments, where you will take on administrative tasks and contribute to projects that support the museum’s mission. Additionally, you will attend monthly operations workshops to deepen your understanding of museum practices and collaborate with peers in hands-on learning experiences.

Throughout your time in the role, you will reflect on your learning journey, receiving valuable feedback from mentors and supervisors to aid your professional growth. This will prepare you for future opportunities within the museum sector and other related fields.

National Training Wage from: $15,500, plus 11.5% Superannuation

This role is suitable for current secondary school students
