AFL NSW/ACT is responsible for the governance, administration, development and marketing of all aspects of Australian Football throughout the region. AFL NSW/ACT covers four predominant sub-regions, ACT, South Coast/Illawarra, Sydney Harbour, Greater Western Sydney and Northern NSW, encompassing 14 leagues and 260 clubs. AFL NSW/ACT’s development arm is responsible for the growth and development of Australian Football across the region.
This role provides crucial operational support for the AFL Independent Schools Competition in Greater Sydney. The position works closely with the Competition Lead to ensure smooth planning, coordination and delivery of high-quality sporting experiences for participants, officials, umpires and volunteers. The role requires the management of competition logistics, including match day paperwork, updating scores and overseeing competition databases, with an emphasis on delivering a professional and engaging competition experience.
Key Responsibilities: The successful candidate will assist in managing the AFL Independent Schools Competition by maintaining competition data, updating scores and ensuring the accurate functioning of the PlayHQ system. They will provide game-day support, solve problems and enforce competition rules while developing strong relationships with schools and key stakeholders. Additionally, they will create content for social media and manage digital platforms to promote the competition effectively.
Experience in community sport competitions is essential, with knowledge of school sports being highly desirable. This role requires flexibility, as the successful candidate must be available to work on Friday evenings and Saturdays during school terms 1 to 3.
National Training Wage from: $21,500, plus 11.5% Superannuation
