AFL NSW/ACT is responsible for the governance, administration, development and marketing of all aspects of Australian Football throughout the region. AFL NSW/ACT covers four predominant sub-regions, ACT, South Coast/Illawarra, Sydney Harbour, Greater Western Sydney and Northern NSW, encompassing 14 leagues and 260 clubs. AFL NSW/ACT’s development arm is responsible for the growth and development of Australian Football across the region.

This role involves delivering and leading various AFL programs across school and community venues, ensuring a high standard of execution aligned with AFL curriculum and expectations. The position plays a critical role in fostering growth and engagement in AFL at the grassroots level, including working with participants, parents and community stakeholders to create meaningful opportunities for involvement in the sport.

Key Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities include mentoring new casual staff during their onboarding process, liaising with schools and program stakeholders to expand AFL opportunities and supporting key programs in the local region. Additional duties involve assisting junior clubs with recruitment, volunteer management and promotion, as well as handling administrative tasks related to community football competitions. The role also includes organising and running key events for the local football community.

A proactive approach to managing tasks and engaging with community members is essential for success in this position.

National Training Wage from: $21,500, plus 11.5% Superannuation

This role is suitable for recent secondary school leavers
