AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) is the peak body for Australian Rules Football in the Northern Territory. Governing all leagues, development and talent programs from grassroots Auskick to senior football competitions.

The Football Operations Trainee will collaborate closely with AFL Northern Territory’s (AFLNT) Community Football team to assist in the daily operations of football activities across the Top End. This role involves contributing to the management and administration of football events, match days, and community engagement initiatives, ensuring smooth and efficient delivery of AFLNT’s football programs.

Key Responsibilities: The trainee will support a range of football administrative duties, including match day preparation, data management through PlayHQ, and assisting the Match Review Panel and Tribunal. Additionally, they will play a key role in developing relationships with community clubs and volunteers, working within AFLNT’s Rules, Regulations and contributing to major AFLNT events. This position requires flexibility, with duties often extending beyond standard business hours, including weekends and evenings.

This role offers a hands-on opportunity to gain valuable experience in football operations and community engagement. The trainee will be expected to assist in volunteer coordination, risk management and providing administrative support to various departments within AFLNT as needed. Applicants should be prepared for the fast-paced nature of the sports industry and to represent AFL programs with professionalism. People with tertiary qualifications need not apply.
Current university applicants may have to defer their studies to be eligible for this traineeship.

National Training Wage from: $21,500, plus 11.5% Superannuation

This role is suitable for recent secondary school leavers
