Located in Sydney, Powerhouse Museum is the largest museum group in Australia. It sits at the intersection of the arts, design, science and technology and plays a critical role in engaging communities with contemporary ideas and issues.

The role offers a unique opportunity to gain comprehensive exposure to museum operations by rotating through various departments, contributing to key administrative tasks, and supporting projects. The position provides a strong foundation in the museum’s day-to-day functions, encouraging professional growth through hands-on experience and structured learning opportunities.

Key Responsibilities: The successful candidate will participate in an orientation and training program, ensuring they are well-versed in museum operations, work health and safety protocols, and relevant ICT systems. Throughout the placement, they will rotate across departments, contributing to administrative duties in areas such as collections, programs, communications, and corporate resources. They will also attend monthly operations workshops designed to enhance their understanding of museum practices while engaging in collaborative learning experiences.

The position offers continuous learning and professional development, with regular feedback from mentors and supervisors aimed at fostering growth and career readiness. Through reflective practices and guidance, the candidate will have the chance to enhance their skills, making them well-prepared for future opportunities.

National Training Wage from: $15,500, plus 11.5% Superannuation
