DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Position Objective
The occupant of this position is responsible for a range of general duties that support the provision of IT support to the staff and students at the College.
All duties will be completed in accordance with established College policies and procedures.
Reporting/Working Relationship
The IT Trainee will work closely with the entire IT Department and report directly to the Network Manager, with accountability to the Director of Corporate Services.
The occupant of this position will be required to form collaborative working relations with staff and students across the campus.
PART A
Key Areas of Responsibilities
IT Department
1.
Take ownership of Help Desk monitoring solution by creating and maintaining tickets of ongoing ICT jobs and tasks
2.
Acting as first point of contact for ICT Help Desk including answering phone calls
3.
Help implement ICT projects under the guidance of senior staff.
4.
Participate in training sessions to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
5.
Collaborate with team members on IT initiatives and contribute to problem-solving.
6.
Any other duties, as directed by the Network Manager.
PART B
Essential Requirements

Current Working with Children Check (WWCC).

Current ‘mandatory’ (RRHAN-EC) training Certificate.

Current drivers’ licence.

Acceptable working VISA if an overseas applicant.

Evidence of your entitlement to work in Australia.

Enthusiasm and interest in pursuing a career in ICT.

Ability to support the Christian aims of the College.
Skills, Experience & Knowledge

Enthusiasm and interest in pursuing a career in ICT.

Communicate competently, both orally and in writing.

Participate in a team structure and contribute to the College’s goals and directions.

Troubleshoot and solve problems.

Experience in dealing with customers on a range of issues in a service orientated environment.

Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to a dynamic work environment.

A sound general knowledge of audio-visual systems and their general operation.

Desirable Characteristics

Prior experience in an educational, service orientated environment.

Prior experience or coursework in IT-related fields.

Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows and/or MacOS.

Familiarity of Office 365 products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc).

Experience with troubleshooting computer systems and peripherals.

Certification or coursework in relevant ICT disciplines (eg CompTIA, Tafe, Microsoft).

SALARY

As the successful candidate, you will receive:

$21,500 – $30,000 plus 11.5% Superannuation

  • National Training Wage Award
  • Fully Funded Qualification

  • People with tertiary qualifications need not apply. Current university applicants may have to defer their studies to be eligible for this traineeship.
  • This position is best suited to a recent secondary school leaver.
