The First Nations Career Kickstart program for 2024 will be run by AFL SportsReady, at the new home of the Brisbane Lions.

Over 6 days, Ready for Work will provide job search assistance and training to First Nations peoples, including:
- Identifying personal and cultural strengths – setting program participants up
with tools for personal and professional growth.
- Employability skills – such as communication in the workplace, working in a team, problem-solving, planning, organising, and self-management.
- Networking opportunities – with local businesses and employers to share their experiences and industry knowledge
- Resume preparation and writing
- Job interview skills
