The AKT Now Earn & Learn Program is a culturally grounded pathway for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to enter education. Participants are employed in a Victorian Government school while completing a nationally recognised qualification, gaining practical experience and mentoring.

Study Certificate IV in School-Based Education Support (CHC40221) online, 3 days per week for 6 months
Be Mentored
Receive Indigenous mentoring and support from experienced education professionals
Future Employment
Transition to full-time employment (5 days per week) after completing your studies. Earn up to $43,600 per year.

Growing in confidence with AKT
Designed to open doors, AKT Now Earn & Learn Program allows participants the chance to step into schools, earn a wage and build real experience while completing a Certificate IV in School-Based Education Support (CHC40221), with no course fees and strong mentoring along the way. Participants work in Victorian government schools for up to 12 months, experiencing the reality of education support roles. From one-on-one student support to small group learning, to moving across classrooms and adapting to different needs throughout the day.
How it Works

• Earn up to $43,600 per year
• Receive Indigenous mentoring and support from experienced education professionals
Eligibility
• Applicants must be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
• Aged 18 years or older
• Currently living in Victoria, or reside in a cross-border community
• Hold or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check and Police Check
• Be prepared to complete any required pre-training reviews, suitability assessments and eligibility checks associated with the program and qualification
