VET in Schools across Australia
Australia-wide Programs 2028
We currently deliver VET in Schools in Victoria, with interstate programs planned from 2028. Each state has its own terminology and arrangements for VET delivered to secondary students, including how VET contributes towards a senior secondary certificate:
• Victoria: VET Delivered to Secondary Students (VDSS), which can contribute to the VCE, VCE Vocational Major or Victorian Pathways Certificate
• Queensland: VET in Schools (VETiS), which can contribute to the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE)
• South Australia: VET in the SACE, which can contribute to the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE)
• Western Australia: VET Delivered to Secondary Students (VETDSS), which can contribute to the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE)
How VET counts towards a student's certificate depends on the qualification, the units completed and the rules in each state. Students should confirm their pathway with their school's careers practitioner.
Nationally Recognised Qualifications
AFL SportsReady delivers nationally recognised VET qualifications through our Registered Training Organisation. Electives, delivery arrangements, funding and how VET contributes to a senior secondary certificate can vary between states. We work with each school to make sure its program meets the requirements for its students.
Where can VET take you?
