STEP 4

If you are successful you are now employed by AFL SportsReady. We help you get started and prepare you for your role with our host employer.

STEP 5

Even though you are on AFL SportsReady’s books you will be working at one of our partner organisations. Click here for a sneak peek of the types of organisations we work with. See who we work with

STEP 6

This is one of the best bits of the traineeship: You will get PAID and earn the National Training Wage. This can vary depending on when you left school, but the average wage for a full-time trainee is about $23K per annum. You also get sick leave and holiday pay.

STEP 7

The combination of work and study is what separates a traineeship from your average job. Typically, you will be provided with 3 hours a week to study for your nationally recognised qualification:

  • Certificate II, III, or IV
  • Diploma

STEP 8

A traineeship is not a walk in the park. At times it can be difficult and they are not for everyone. But you can rest easy knowing that you will be supported every step of the way. You will be allocated your own personal AFL SportsReady Field Officer, who is there to help guide you through to graduation.

STEP 9

Once you graduate you have earned what most employers look for - professional EXPERIENCE backed up by a QUALITY EDUCATION.

STEP 9A BONUS

After you graduate, it is nice to know you have options. We have agreements with universities across Australia, providing our Diploma students with direct entry and course credit for select courses.

STEP 10

Congratulations, you are now prepared to take your career to the next level.
