A professional development program to build the leadership potential of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are looking to transition into management and leadership positions within your organisation.
The Emerging Leaders Program aims to build the leadership capacity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander future leaders within an organisation. The program uses a combination of live-in intensives, online reflective diaries and practical workplace activities to help participants become more attuned to themselves, their strengths and how they can use these to manage, lead and mentor others.
The course will provide participants with academic theories, practical examples, leadership challenges, case studies and the opportunity to hear from experts and peers (where relevant). At the conclusion of the five day intensive, participants will be asked to prepare a proposal for presentation to a senior panel.
Participants who successfully complete this program will also receive an Executive Certificate in Professional Mentoring. The program exposes participants to a range of leaders and leadership styles in order to help them forge an understanding of and develop their own personal leadership capacity and style.
WE WORK WITH PARTICIPANTS TO ENHANCE THEIR CAPABILITIES, GROW THEIR CONFIDENCE AND EXPLORE WHAT KIND OF LEADERS THEY WANT TO BE.
The program will:
- Help participants to better understand themselves, affirm their identity, explore their thinking and develop leadership behaviours.
- Build participants understanding of key research, strategies and knowledge that will enable them to be an effective leader.
- Build participants capacity to confidently and effectively transition into leadership and management roles.
- Examine ‘it’s not what you do, it’s what you do in-between what you do, that really matters’.
