DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibility of the Physical Education Assistant is to provide support in the following:
•
Assist with the delivery of Outdoor Education classes
•
Assist with the administrative processes associated with the delivery of programs
•
Assist with organisation and coordination of sport and recreation competitions and carnivals e.g. Lightning Carnivals, Athletics and Swimming Carnivals
•
Assist with the administration of camps and excursions
•
Attend and assist on Year 11/12 Outdoor Education camps/expeditions.
•
Help supervise aquatic activities for camps and excursions.
•
Assist the Health and Physical Education staff with the set-up, conduct and clean-up of practical classes
•
Follow the Workplace Health and Safety requirements of Willetton Senior High School
•
Complete the assignments required for completion of either a Certificate III or Certificate IV in Sport and Recreation
•
Labelling and maintaining equipment
•
Repairing equipment and stocktake
•
Photocopying and maintain office equipment
•
Other administration duties as required

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Selection Criteria
Working With Childrens Check (or willing to obtain)
Nationally Coordinated Police Clearance (or willing to obtain)
Provide First Aid Certificate (Preferred)
Well-developed communication skills
•
Well-developed skills and ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment
•
Flexible and confident to adapt to different situations and provide assistance across a variety of tasks
•
Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office
•
Experience in Outdoor Education course
•
Water qualification training including the Flatwater paddle guide and Surf Rescue Certificate will be provided by Willetton SHS
•
Ideally, this individual should be familiar with sporting activities

SALARY

As the successful candidate, you will receive:

$21,500 – $30,000 plus 11.5% Superannuation

National Training Wage Award
Fully Funded Qualification

MORE INFORMATION

People with tertiary qualifications need not apply. Current university applicants may have to defer their studies to be eligible for this traineeship.
This position is best suited to a recent secondary school leaver.
