DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties, which are not limited to the following, include:

 Assist with co-ordination and organisation of carnivals, camps and ODE programs.
 Attend carnivals, camps and interschool competitions as a member of the supervisory team.
 Assist with supervision for Outdoor Education camps, excursion and on-site activities.
 Attend interschool athletics as a member of the supervisory team.
 Maintain and provide basic repair of sporting and outdoor equipment.
 Maintain uniforms.
 Assist in the delivery of the Phys Ed Department’s programs.
 Class preparation and set up.
 Provide general administrative support for classes and events.
 Assist with sports carnival set up and pack up.
 Prepare kits and folders for carnivals.
 Undertake risk analysis of activities.
 Assist with the delivery of lessons.
 Assist in providing a positive, stimulating and safe environment for students.
 Report any unacceptable behaviour to supervisors.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Selection Criteria – Well developed communication skills
– Well developed skills and ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment
– Flexible and confident to adapt to different situations and provide assistance across a variety of tasks
– Ability to prioritise workload
– Demonstrate initiative
– Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office
– Ideally, this individual should be familiar with sporting activities

Desirable Criteria – Knowledge and experience in Outdoor Education setting and broader sporting context.
– Working With Childrens Check (or willing to obtain)
– Police Check (or willing to obtain)
– First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain)
– Community Surf Rescue Certificate (or willing to obtain)
– Current Driver’s Licence

SALARY

As the successful candidate, you will receive:

$21,500 – $30,000 plus 11.5% Superannuation

National Training Wage Award
Fully Funded Qualification

MORE INFORMATION

People with tertiary qualifications need not apply. Current university applicants may have to defer their studies to be eligible for this traineeship.
This position is best suited to a recent secondary school leaver.
