DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain the school’s vision and core values at all times.
• Organise all equipment required for afterschool sport and school carnivals.
• Organise all school sporting teams’ uniforms, including management of uniforms borrowed by students and collection of these post-game
• Manage the set-up of playing facilities prior to playing fixtures, including scoreboards, equipment, goal post padding, benches etc.
• Continually check equipment and report any damages.
• Liaising with all staff members leading into school carnivals and addressing questions regarding organisation of these
• Complete administrative duties in preparation for school sporting events, including nominations, excursion documentation and permission forms.
• Officiating at school or interschool carnivals or sporting fixtures.
• Set up activities and equipment for classes as required by HPE staff members
• Organise and maintain all storeroom equipment as required and order additional equipment in consultation with HOLA
• Assist in the organisation of excursions and camps and attend where necessary.
• Photography of classes and events where required.
• Assist with outdoor education classes including but not limited to; camps, morning sessions, hiking, biking, swimming and camp preparation
• Administrative duties on behalf of the HPE staff including photocopying and maintaining digital storage.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Tasks / Activities

• Checking PE and OE equipment, inflation of balls and organisation of class equipment sets for staff
• Repair/removal of damaged equipment and ordering of new items
• Delivery of information and permission slips to students for carnivals/excursion/extracurricula activities
• Photography of events and preparation of social media posts for Instagram and Facebook pages for Specialist AFL program
• Umpiring/coaching during and after school AFL games
• Photocopying worksheets and permission slips
• Organising and creating fixtures for lightning carnivals
• Emailing bus companies for excursion transport planning
• Line marking ovals for AFL, soccer and athletics events
• Attend early morning Outdoor Education sessions to assist qualified staff with practical activities eg. Snorkelling, surfing, bushwalking, abseiling etc.
• Attend classes to assist with drill setup and allow for practical examples for use with Certificate course being completed by AFLSR
• Uploading programs to digital platforms (Google Drive, school drives etc.)

Essential Criteria, Experience and Qualifications:

• Working With Children Check (WWCC) or willing to obtain
• Nationally coordinated police check- willing to obtain
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• A sound grasp of office information and communication technology.
• SLSWA Surf Rescue Qualification desirable but not required (can upskill during the year)
• HLTAID011 Provide First Aid certificate desirable but not required
• Confidence in umpiring competitive games in a range of sports with strong AFL knowledge desirable

SALARY

As the successful candidate, you will receive:

$21,500 – $30,000 plus 11.5% Superannuation

  • People with tertiary qualifications need not apply. Current university applicants may have to defer their studies to be eligible for this traineeship.
  • This position is best suited to a recent secondary school leaver.
