DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Football Operations trainee will work closely with members of AFLNT’s Community Football team and be responsible for assisting with the day to day running of Football Operations activities in the Top End.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with football administrative tasks
• Assist with match day preparation & set up
• Assist with Match Review Panel and Tribunal tasks
• Match Manage as required
• Develop relationships with community clubs
• Develop relationships with volunteers
• Work within AFLNT Rules & Regulations and Competition By-Laws
• Utilize the AFL database known as PlayHQ to record match and tribunal results
• Collect and report on participation data to meet census and insurance requirements

Other
• Provide assistance to other departments in AFL NT as required, particularly around major events
• Miscellaneous administration support as required

As a face of AFL programs in the NT you will be responsible for building positive relationships and representing the game.

Due to the nature of the sporting industry you must be willing to work outside normal business hours such as evenings and weekends.

Tasks involved
The Football Operations Trainee may perform or assist with any or all of the following tasks:
• Assist with developing and maintaining volunteer participation.
• Meet client needs and expectations.
• Answer phones and general reception
• Contribute to effective workplace relationships
• Undertake risk analysis of activities
• Provide first aid response
• Follow defined Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Successful completion of year 12
• Ochre Card (NT working with Children check) or ability to acquire one.
• NT Driver’s License and transport.
• Level 1 First Aid and CPR qualification (or ability to attain)

SALARY

As the successful candidate, you will receive:

$21,500 – $30,000 plus 11.5% Superannuation

  • National Training Wage Award
  • Fully Funded Qualification

MORE INFORMATION

  • People with tertiary qualifications need not apply. Current university applicants may have to defer their studies to be eligible for this traineeship.
  • This position is best suited to a recent secondary school leaver.
