DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Based within the First Nations Team you will assist the First Nations Lead in the planning, delivery and evaluation of programs and events across Banyule City Council.
You will support the planning and delivery of National Reconciliation Week, NAIDOC Week and other major Council events.
You will work in partnership with the Barrbunin Beek Committee to support local programming.

SKILLS THAT ARE REQUIRED:
• Awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities, and commitment to continually build knowledge in this area
• Demonstrated ability to work in a culturally respectful and competent manner.
• Interpersonal skills that support internal and external relationships, partnerships and networks.
• Communication skills written and verbal communication, friendly, responsive, approachable, ability to build rapport and connect with the First Nations community within Banyule

SKILLS PREFERRED:
• Ability to work collaboratively to assist First Nations Lead in the delivery and implementation of strategies, events and initiatives
• Basic Proficiency in Microsoft office suite, or willingness to learn
• Ability to prioritise tasks, time management and complete administration tasks as required.

As the successful candidate, you will receive:

National Training Wage Award plus 11% Superannuation
