The Events Assistant Trainee provides essential support to the Major Events and Festival team, contributing to the successful delivery of the City’s events and programs. This role spans across Programming, Production and Business Operations, offering experience in various areas involved in planning and executing major events.

Key Responsibilities: The Trainee will assist with project and administrative tasks as directed by the Major Events and Festivals team. Key duties include supporting event set-up, operations and pack-down, completing event administration tasks such as preparing meeting minutes and updating project documentation. The role also includes the opportunity to work on event sites during the delivery of events when required.

This position offers the chance to build productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, maintain high standards while meeting tight deadlines and contribute to team discussions. The Trainee will report to the Project Manager, Major Events / Festivals and assist with the administration of supplier requirements. The role allows for valuable hands-on experience in event delivery and operations. This traineeship is not available to people with tertiary qualifications and current university applicants may need to defer their studies to be eligible.
