The STEM and Systems Trainee collaborates closely with the Head of Digital Learning, Heads of Learning and Head of Systems to support classroom teachers and students by ensuring a safe, innovative and contemporary approach to STEM education. This role involves facilitating smooth, safe operation of STEM and Systems equipment, including VR immersive experiences, to enhance learning for both teachers and students.
Key Responsibilities: In this role, the STEM and Systems Trainee will set up and prepare STEM practical classroom activities, ensuring equipment such as 3D printers, robotics kits, VR headsets are ready and well-maintained for classes. They will assist teaching staff with resources needed for curriculum activities and manage Systems setups for practical lessons. Additionally, the Trainee will support equipment maintenance, perform inspections, follow maintenance schedules and provide Level 1 ICT support during peak times, including start-of-term and NAPLAN testing. Administrative duties include managing inventory, tracking usage, ordering supplies, along with assisting with class demonstrations, practical work, and co-curricular STEM activities as required.
This position is a Trainee role offering a hands-on learning environment ideal for individuals with a strong interest in STEM and Systems fields. Candidates should be familiar with safety and legislative requirements and possess strong organisational skills, a willingness to learn, and a technical aptitude. A Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques, IT, or a related qualification is desirable. The successful candidate must comply with the College’s child safety policies, including the Commitment to Child Safety and Code of Conduct for safeguarding children and young people.
People with tertiary qualifications need not apply. Current university applicants may have to defer their studies to be eligible for this traineeship.
National Training Wage from: $21,500, plus 11.5% Superannuation
