This is a senior management role which represents AFL SportsReady at the national level, and is based at our head office in Abbotsford, Melbourne.

This position leads our Recruitment team and our State and Federal contracts and program delivery to optimise successful outcomes and partnership activity. The role is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with employers, Government agencies and other key partner organisations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Recruitment management – planning and overseeing recruitment activities to maximise conversion. Includes developing, managing and monitoring of recruitment pipelines and reporting on outcomes.
• Project and contract management – planning and overseeing the delivery of multiple state and federal contracts and programs, including adhering to contract delivery requirements, maximising successful outcomes and reporting on activities.
• Business development – developing new business relationships and partnerships, and maintaining and strengthening existing ones.
• Stakeholder management – leading strategic relationships and supporting key partner organisations, including state and federal government, employers, program partners and employment providers to deliver successful outcomes and strengthen our relationships
• Process efficiency – reviewing existing company recruitment, contract and program delivery efficiencies and leading work to optimise successful outcomes and partnership activity
• Staff management – act as a senior manager within the company, and effectively lead and manage a team of staff.

Essential

• Relevant tertiary qualifications
• Commitment to supporting young people into education and employment
• Demonstrated experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander programs and communities
• Demonstrated understanding and practice of respect for people across a range of background and cultures
• Significant experience and demonstrated ability to scope, plan and lead on recruitment, contracts and program management activities
• Senior stakeholder management experience across Government, industry, commercial and Not for profit sectors
• Knowledge of Vocational Education and Training and Employment Sector
• Demonstrated strong business engagement skills with a focus on future needs and opportunities
• High level liaison, networking, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Capacity to deliver quality work in tight timelines
• Strong decision making skills including the ability to consult and gather information, consider alternatives, communicate and review outcomes
• Demonstrated capacity to autonomously determine and work to deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to lead staff and foster collaboration across teams
• Financial acumen, with a demonstrated ability to manage a budget
